Kayis
Frequently asked questions
What can I do on the free tier?
Block up to 3 apps, set two protection routines, and run focus sessions of 25 or 45 minutes. Kayis Plus unlocks strict mode and session lock-in, Pomodoro rounds and sessions of any length, unlimited routines and apps, a daily limit per app, and allowlist mode.
Blocking didn't work for a particular app
First check that the Screen Time permission is still granted: Settings → Screen Time, and confirm Kayis is listed and allowed. If you revoke or remove that permission, every blocking restriction ends immediately, and the app cannot restore them until you grant it again.
How short can a shield break be?
Anywhere from 1 to 60 minutes. Kayis re-blocks automatically when the timer ends. Breaks are limited to three per day; after that the button disappears from the shield screen until the next day begins.
The number on the home screen hasn't updated
Screen time is read by a sealed system extension from Apple, and it calculates the figure only while you have the app open — there is no way for it to run in the background. So if you don't open Kayis for a whole day, we have no figure for that day. Pull down on the screen to refresh.
Why don't app names always appear inside Kayis?
Apple does not give apps the names or identifiers of the apps you select — only opaque tokens. The name and icon you see are drawn by the system itself, and Kayis never reads them. That is also why you cannot sort or search the app list by name.
I forgot my password
On the sign-in screen tap "Forgot your password?" and enter your email. Open the link you receive on the same device you requested it from, otherwise the verification cannot complete.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Device Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Kayis Plus → Cancel Subscription. Cancelling only stops renewal; your access stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or deleting your account does not cancel the subscription.
How do I delete my account?
From inside the app: the "Me" tab → "Delete my account permanently". Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. We keep only a small record proving the request came from you — details in the Privacy Policy. Remember that deleting your account does not cancel your Apple subscription.
